3R Games, the clever minds responsible for Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street (2022), have some exciting news to share. They’ve managed to sell over 310,000 copies of the game on the Quest platform alone.
They recently made this announcement on X, pointing out that these sales encompass all Quest headsets, including Quest 2, 3, 3S, and Pro. It’s worth mentioning that the game isn’t just a Quest exclusive; it’s also available for those using PSVR 2.
Interestingly, 3R Games clarifies that these figures reflect actual sales. With the game typically priced at $20 on Quest, this translates to potential maximum earnings of around $6.2 million. Of course, the game does go on sale from time to time, dropping to as low as $9, which is the current offer. The revenue picture is also sweetened by the introduction of paid expansion packs, contributing to substantial earnings still landing in the single-digit millions.
Released in July 2022, Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street delivers players the engaging experience of sneaky break-ins much like the original Thief Simulator from 2018, developed by Noble Muffins. This version, however, hones in specifically on the Greenview Street neighborhood, setting it apart from the 2020 Thief Simulator VR by GameBoom VR, which required PC VR headsets.
Since launching Greenview Street, 3R Games hasn’t slowed down. They’ve packed in additional content through paid DLCs such as expansions like Richie R. Street, The Motel, and Spooky House, alongside various paid skin packs. For those on Quest, there’s a handy bundle available which includes the base game and all the DLCs for $23.
