Hello, Trailblazers! The Honkai: Star Rail dev team sends its warm greetings! While it’s been a minute since we last caught up, we’re buzzing with excitement to share some insights on version 2.7. Officially titled “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn,” this update rolls out on December 4 and marks the conclusion of our saga in Penacony, setting the stage for the thrilling mysteries awaiting in Amphoreus, the Eternal Land. This pivotal update will wrap up the current chapter just before we dive headfirst into what version 3.0 has in store.
Previously, the enigmatic Black Swan hinted that the Crew should consider exploring Amphoreus—a place so shrouded in mystery that even Akivili, the Aeon of the Trailblaze, couldn’t reach it. Himeko, ever the cautious Navigator, decides it’s wise to gather all possible information about this elusive destination. In the meantime, the Crew takes a nostalgic detour back to Penacony, reconnecting with familiar faces and making cherished memories before embarking on their next bold adventure.
### Old Friends Make a Grand Return
Ah, the memories of performing at the Penacony Grand Theater feel as vivid as if they happened just yesterday. Not only have the Astral Express and Penacony awakened from their dreams, but so has Sunday. The beauty of sharing the stage with Mr. Sunday once more is truly profound. Having stepped down from his role as the head of the Oak Family, Sunday has opted to “Descend to the mortal realm and walk their lands. See what this world is truly like.” Forsaking the blessings of Harmony and Order, he’s chasing his dream of utopia as an ordinary mortal. This time, thanks to the secretive Pepeshi named Wonweek, he is back in Penacony with one goal: to deliver a final, breathtaking performance before setting off on a new journey. His robe and hood aren’t just for show—they help conceal his identity for this farewell dance on the Planet of Festivities.
As a 5-star Imaginary character, Sunday’s unique abilities give him notable Support capabilities. His Skill lets an ally act immediately and boost their damage. If the ally has a Summon, both the ally and the Summon can take action straight away, further enhancing the damage boost. When he unleashes his Ultimate, he regenerates Energy for an ally and transforms them and their Summon into The Beatified, endowing them with a halo that significantly boosts CRIT DMG.
Our next spotlight character is Fugue, known to us as the old ally Tingyun. This tactful foxian girl has had her identity stolen—name, appearance, and all. Despite the mark of Destruction that simmers within her, fate has left her with a slender thread of hope. During the main storyline of version 1.2, Tingyun barely escaped death after clashing with Phantylia and was saved by Madam Ruan Mei from the Genius Society, offering her a second lease on life. Himeko and Welt recently visited Madam Ruan Mei and took it upon themselves to help Miss Tingyun return home, reigniting her journey.
Fugue, a 5-star Fire character, excels in assisting allies to lower Toughness irrespective of enemy’s Type Weaknesses. Enemies face the Cloudflame Luster state while Fugue is in the field, facing Break DMG when it hits zero. Furthermore, when allies attack Weakness Broken enemies, they deliver Super Break DMG. But there’s more—Fugue can utilize her Technique to boost allies’ Break Effect. Her Ultimate deals Fire DMG across all enemies, by bypassing Weakness Type to significantly reduce their Toughness.
Fans will be pleased to know that limited 5-star characters like General Jing Yuan and Firefly will be making a comeback in the first and second halves of the version 2.7 warp event, bringing with them unparalleled support to aid in your forthcoming quests.
### New Gameplay Elements in Version 2.7 and Beyond
Version 2.7 is not just about new characters and narratives; it promises a truly immersive experience for Trailblazers as well. Enter the Astral Express’ new Party Car—a space where elegance meets nostalgia. The spacious reception welcomes you with a slick marble bar and a classic bartending robot. Admire the vast expanse of the Cosmos from here, either sharing a drink with the Express Crew or simply losing yourself in thought while gazing out the window.
Climb the stairs, and there’s a delightful surprise waiting for you—your very own Trailblazer’s quarters. As part of the Cosmic Home Décor Guide event, you get to transform an old storage room into a personal oasis, adding touches like a snug bedroom and bathroom. With Express Funds collected from various tasks, you’ll gradually furnish your space, reflecting your celestial adventure.
Here’s another thrilling update: version 3.0 will introduce changes to the Relic system. Trailblazers will gain the ability to select a Relic’s Main Stat and Subsidiary Stats using specialized tools during synthesis. By using both Wishful Resin and Self-Modeling Resin, you can set the Main and Sub Stats for a Relic at the same time.
As we wrap up, here’s one last nugget of joy—Pom-Pom unearthed something special while organizing the Trailblazer’s storage boxes! From the release of version 2.7 until the end of version 3.2, players can obtain a Gift of the Express, allowing them to select a regular 5-star character of their choice. The journey continues with both old friends and new allies, so let’s forge ahead and keep battling side by side.
That’s all for our sneak peek into version 2.7. But don’t tune out just yet—plenty of surprises are still lurking behind the curtain. I hope your excitement is as palpable as ours because our trusted ally Herta, the celebrated master of the Herta Space Station, is more than ready for the adventures on the horizon when version 2.7 launches on December 4.
