Remastered Editions of Tomb Raider IV-VI Launching on Valentine’s Day

Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics have announced the release date for Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, arriving soon on the Nintendo Switch.

Continuing from where the revisiting of the original trilogy, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, left off, this new release further delves into the adventures of the much-loved British archaeologist, Lara Croft, with the next three exciting installments.

Fans of the series will recognize these as the Darkness Trilogy, featuring:

• Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation – In this installment, Lara Croft stumbles upon the lost tomb of the Egyptian God Set and accidentally sets off a chain reaction, fulfilling an ancient prophecy that could engulf humanity in darkness.

• Tomb Raider: Chronicles – Picking up after The Last Revelation, this chapter presents a somber moment as Lara is thought to be dead, buried in an Egyptian tomb. Her closest allies gather to remember her and uncover some of her past secrets during her memorial.

• Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness – Here, we find Lara accused of murder, becoming a fugitive while unraveling a tangled web of alchemical experiments and the search for powerful ancient artifacts.

This remastered collection comes with a much-loved feature, Photo Mode. The developer shared insights in a detailed blog post on how this works, much to the excitement of fans.

The collection’s key features also include:

• Classic and Remastered Visuals: Relive Lara Croft’s iconic adventures with the original visuals or switch to modern, remastered graphics that bring a fresh look to the game’s environments, characters, and relics.

• Global Adventures: Accompany Lara around the world, from exploring Egypt’s age-old tombs in The Last Revelation to navigating the dimly-lit streets of Paris in The Angel of Darkness.

• Uncover Dark Secrets: Dive deep into some of the more mysterious chapters of Lara’s journey, grappling with hidden truths and menacing forces. This remastered version makes the enigma surrounding her disappearance and return even more intriguing.

• Classic and Modern Controls: Choose between the original tank-style controls for the authentic, nostalgic experience or enjoy smoother movement and camera work with the updated controls inspired by newer series entries.
