Exciting times for PlayStation enthusiasts and those who appreciate vibrant, imaginative gameplay! Astro Bot snagged the prestigious Game of the Year award at last night’s BAFTAs, outshining notable contenders like Helldivers 2 and Balatro.
But that wasn’t all. Astro Bot also clinched several other awards, including those for Audio Achievement, Animation, Family Game, and Game Design. This follows its prior success at The Game Awards, where it also secured the top spot against a highly competitive lineup in 2024.
During the ceremony, Nicolas Doucet took the stage to accept the award on behalf of the team. He shared heartfelt thanks, especially to the dedicated team in Japan. “Their passion and commitment to making this game shine every day was never about winning awards. It was all about bringing joy to players,” he said.
Doucet acknowledged various team members, the brilliant composer, and everyone at PlayStation, including partners whose creations featured in Astro Bot. He expressed gratitude to the BAFTA academy and gave a nod to the families of the developers and the pioneering video game creators who paved the way.
