In the ever-evolving realm of Overwatch 2, a fresh mode called Stadium is about to make waves. This exciting update introduces Mods, an intriguing new feature allowing players to tweak stats and abilities, crafting a personalized hero build. Imagine embarking on a dynamic best-of-seven showdown that constantly shifts between maps and modes. Each round kicks off with access to an armory, where you can spend the points you’ve racked up to enhance your character’s traits and abilities. For instance, consider giving Reaper the ability to soar in Wraith Form, or extending Soldier: 76’s healing station range while providing a power surge to allies nearby. Kiriko, meanwhile, can teleport across the map without needing an ally as a target. Blizzard describes Stadium as the ultimate fantasy for each hero, unleashing an exhilarating level of destruction and chaos with their abilities turned up to the max.
One of the standout features of Stadium is its third-person perspective. This decision was made to help reduce visual clutter, a common issue as abilities are amplified during gameplay. Initially, Stadium mode is set to feature 14 heroes, with plans to gradually introduce the rest of the characters later on. Stay tuned, as we’ll soon be sharing our in-depth impressions of this intriguing new mode.
