According to recent updates, NVIDIA’s board partners have been informed that the release of the RTX 5060 series graphics cards has been postponed by a few weeks.
Just before the anticipated launch of the GeForce RTX 5070, we’re hearing about delays concerning the RTX 5060 lineup. Initially, the RTX 5060 series was slated for a March launch with sales starting in April. However, the latest reports indicate a further delay.
The exact reasons for this delay haven’t been spelled out yet, though Board Channels has confirmed that all of NVIDIA’s board partners have been made aware. While NVIDIA has not officially announced the RTX 5060’s release, the information seems credible. There have been murmurs of possible bugs and supply chain issues affecting the timeline, but these remain unconfirmed by NVIDIA.
Board Channels recently communicated that NVIDIA has internally informed all AIC partners via email about the new RTX 5060 Ti / 5060 series products. The message indicated that both GPU series would face delays. Specifically, NVIDIA shared that the RTX 5060 Ti, available in both 16GB and 8GB variants, might be delayed until mid-April. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 series is expected to launch around mid-May. These dates are pending further confirmation from NVIDIA.
Rumors suggest that NVIDIA will likely introduce the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti around mid-April, with the GeForce RTX 5060 following a month later in mid-May. It’s anticipated that both variants of the RTX 5060 Ti will be released simultaneously. Despite this, exact launch dates remain undisclosed, even to NVIDIA’s board partners.
It’s worth noting that the RTX 5060 series release might align closely with the debut of AMD’s RX 9060 series GPUs. AMD is set to introduce RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 cards, available in 8GB and 16GB variants, respectively—making them direct competitors to the RTX 5060 Ti’s own 8GB and 16GB options. The RX 9060 series is rumored to launch in the second quarter, though specifics remain scant.
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, NVIDIA’s successor to the RTX 4060 Ti, is expected to boast 4608 CUDA Cores, 8/16 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 180W. The RTX 5060, taking over from the RTX 4060, will likely feature 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a TDP of 150W. Interestingly, a recent leak suggested an RTX 5060 variant with 12 GB of VRAM, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed. If true, it could give NVIDIA an edge over the RX 9060, which is supposedly coming only with an 8 GB variant.
