Hello Games has dropped an exciting new update for No Man’s Sky, unveiling the redux Expedition calendar for the 2024 holiday season. These Expeditions are a fun series of limited-time events scattered throughout the vast universe of No Man’s Sky. Each one offers players unique challenges and the chance to achieve exclusive goals.
This year, Hello Games introduced five new Expeditions, culminating with ‘The Cursed,’ which wrapped up on November 6. Now, they’re bringing back these popular events with a few twists, allowing fans a chance to finish anything they’ve left hanging in the game’s colossal space world.
Hello Games’ managing director and co-founder, Sean Murray, shared the details in a recent blog post. Players can look forward to diving into replay versions of Omega, Adrift, Liquidators, Aquarius, and The Cursed throughout the holidays. The Omega Expedition will kick off the lineup on November 27, running until December 11. Next, Adrift will take over from December 11 to December 25. Liquidators will keep adventurers busy from December 25 to January 8, 2025, before Aquarius starts right on January 8, going until January 22. Finally, the slate will close with The Cursed, which runs from January 22 to February 5.
The reason for these redux events, according to Murray, is to let players catch up on past Expeditions and maximize their rewards. In 2024, these incentives include incredible starships like the Iron Vulture, reminiscent of Halo’s Pelican or The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest.
Despite the year drawing to a close, Hello Games remains hard at work with more content in the pipeline for No Man’s Sky. Murray reassured fans in a blog post, “There’s so much more we have planned for No Man’s Sky.” It’s a testament to the game’s journey from a challenging launch in 2016 to earning its ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam and a nomination for Best Community Support at The Game Awards 2024. This recognition highlights excellent community engagement and responsiveness.
Meanwhile, Hello Games is also busy developing a new fantasy game called Light No Fire. This upcoming project is expected to be even more ambitious than No Man’s Sky, albeit set on a single planet. According to Murray, the team is making significant progress on this exciting venture.
