Nintendo has announced that the much-anticipated Nintendo Direct presentation for the Switch 2 is scheduled for tomorrow, April 2, 2025, and it promises to deliver a comprehensive look at the new console, lasting about an hour.
Gamers eager to catch the broadcast can tune in at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. BST / 3 p.m. CEST. Last month, the company officially unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, which put an end to swirling rumors and supposed leaks that had kept fans on their toes, wondering about the follow-up to Nintendo’s popular hybrid console.
The initial reveal included a brief video showing off the console’s design and offering a sneak peek at an upcoming Mario Kart game. Nintendo also confirmed that the new system will support backward compatibility, allowing players to enjoy games from the original Switch.
However, a word of caution came from the company—while both physical and digital titles from the original console will generally be playable on the Switch 2, some games might not work or might only have limited compatibility.
Although a specific release date hasn’t been pinned down yet, Nintendo has confirmed a global launch sometime in 2025. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates during tomorrow’s presentation!
