A creative Minecraft player recently impressed the community by constructing a claw machine game within the game itself. By cleverly using redstone, the latest lead mechanics, and various blocks, they crafted an interactive experience that’s been warmly received.
Despite being over a decade old, Minecraft keeps growing and changing. What started as a vast, open world now offers even more adventures thanks to Mojang’s regular updates. Players can test new features through Java Snapshots and Bedrock Betas/Previews, like the new mechanics that let players tether mobs to boats.
A Reddit user named Michael23B came up with an ingenious way to use these new leash features to build a claw machine. The setup involved mobs, such as llamas and sheep, with a boat suspended from the ceiling. This boat was tethered to a series of animals, which allowed the player to manipulate the claw to capture a mob. They used “player-controlled water streams” to move the hidden skeleton horse, adjusting the claw’s height with cleverly placed bubble columns.
In this game, participants have 30 seconds to position the claw before the music stops, at which point the claw delivers any captured prizes to the output bin. Michael23B’s design garnered over 11,000 upvotes on Reddit, and users expressed a keen interest in recreating the game. In response, Michael23B shared screenshots and hinted at making a tutorial if there’s enough demand. Known for their prolific creations, they have shared many other innovative designs on Reddit.
This isn’t the only creative endeavor inspired by Minecraft’s new updates. Another player devised a unique elevator using the Happy Ghast. As the community grows more accustomed to these fresh features, it’s exciting to see what new ideas will emerge.
