Acer has just unveiled six exciting new models in the Radeon RX 9070 series, boasting impressive specs and innovative designs. This latest release features both base and overclocked (OC) models that can reach boost clocks up to a thrilling 3.1 GHz.
In this new lineup, Acer has rolled out both BiFrost and Nitro versions for the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models, marking a significant expansion in their RDNA 4 GPU offerings. Typically, Acer hasn’t been the most prominent name in AMD card manufacturing, but they’re stepping up with these six new models—three for each type.
The BiFrost series showcases Acer’s premium aesthetic and superior cooling design, targeting gamers who crave top performance and visuals. Meanwhile, the Nitro series aims at a wider audience, still delivering robust specs but with a more mainstream feel.
Kicking things off is the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB. This powerhouse is equipped with a triple-fan cooling system inside a sleek shroud adorned with unique silverfish accents on the middle fan. It features the FrostBlade 4.0 ringed fans, optimized with a counter-spin technique to enhance heat dispersal. With a hefty build at approximately 295 mm in length and 2.5-slot thickness, this overclocked beast pushes its performance to a max of 3.1 GHz, promising an outstanding gaming experience.
Speaking of its sibling, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB mirrors much of the XT’s design but switches to two 8-pin power connectors instead of three. Although surprising that both cards carry a 340W rating, the RX 9070 naturally consumes less power. The dual 8-pin setup supplemented by the PCI-E x16 slot should cover its 340W needs despite its reduced headroom for overclocking compared to the XT OC version.
Now, let’s check out the Nitro series, which offers both overclocked and non-overclocked models for each of the RX 9070 series. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC comes as a triple-fan GPU, similarly extending to a 3.1 GHz boost clock. It mirrors the BiFrost in size and is also fueled by three 8-pin power connectors with a 340W TDP. On the flip side, the non-OC Nitro RX 9070 XT runs at 304W, yet it maintains the trio of 8-pin connectors. It hits up to 2970 MHz in boost mode and 2.4 GHz in gaming mode.
Rounding off the selection, we have the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and RX 9070 16 GB editions clocking at up to 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz respectively. The OC variant operates at 245W, while its non-OC counterpart comes in at 220W, maintaining the same physical design for both.
As for pricing, Acer has only confirmed the cost of the Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB, which comes in at a whopping $829.99. It’s expected that the BiFrost versions might be priced even higher. While Acer hasn’t shared the complete pricing and release details, they did reveal that the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC would hit the U.S. market in April.
