If you’re itching for some robot action, today’s a day to celebrate. Steel Hunters has made its debut in Early Access, and it’s free to play. This game mixes the intense excitement of extraction shooters with the chaotic thrill of battle royales, offering the perfect adrenaline rush for fans who can’t get enough of mechas.
Wargaming, the minds behind popular titles like World of Tanks, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes, has shifted gears with Steel Hunters. Rather than focusing on historical combat settings, they’re exploring an entirely new realm of tactical warfare, bringing their expertise to the mecha genre.
As part of its Early Access release, Steel Hunters features seven unique mechs, which they call Hunters. And that’s not all—expect an additional Hunter to be introduced soon during this early stage. It also includes three distinct maps, a battle pass, and importantly, there won’t be any progress resets when the game officially launches. If you’re considering diving into the action, now is definitely the time.
The year has been generous to mech enthusiasts. Earlier, we witnessed the open beta for Mecha Break, which offered a nostalgic yet fresh spin reminiscent of classic Gundam titles. In contrast, Steel Hunters opts for a more grounded approach both in gameplay and design, differentiating itself in the world of mecha games.
Curious to see if Steel Hunters is your cup of tea? It’s available right now on PC. Jump in and explore its offerings—your feedback is always welcome in the comments below!
