Humanoid Origin Announces Closure

Canadian game developer Humanoid Origin has announced it’s shutting down. The news came through a LinkedIn post where the studio shared its struggles with overcoming the “broader challenges” impacting the gaming industry. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t secure sufficient funding to continue operating.

Humanoid Origin was established in 2021 by Casey Hudson, the former general manager of BioWare. In their announcement, the studio expressed deep disappointment over not being able to complete their new science-fiction universe. However, their immediate focus is on supporting their team members as they transition to new jobs. They commended their team for the remarkable progress made, highlighting that it’s indeed possible to deliver outstanding work while cultivating a fun and creative environment. The studio extended heartfelt thanks for their team’s talent, courage, and friendship.
