HoYoverse seems to be gearing up for something big, hinting at unleashing Sunday and Tingyun—whom I fondly refer to as Fugueyun or Deadyun for those in the know—in Honkai Star Rail. Even so, they haven’t held back from giving us a sneak peek at the characters coming in HSR 3.0. Kicking off the excitement is The Herta, the 5-star version of a character that’s been with us from the start, sporting an impressive hat and maintaining the same path and element as her 4-star form—Ice and Erudition. Pretty thrilling stuff!
But what has fans buzzing even more is Aglaea, a 5-star Dressmaster hailing from Amphoreus, the brand-new planet in HSR 3.0. This is the first solid hint we’ve gotten that Amphoreus is next. Then there’s the kicker: Aglaea is on the path of Remembrance. HoYoverse slipped this juicy tidbit into Aglaea’s art without fanfare, casually dropping it on Twitter like no big deal. Yet, it clearly signals that Remembrance is making its way to us.
If you’ve been paying close attention, this might not catch you off guard. HoYoverse has ramped up its focus on Erudition lately, especially after introducing the 5-star Herta in the recent update, leading many to believe Erudition would be the main attraction on Amphoreus. However, after chatting with a friend, I was reminded of Black Swan’s early role in HSR 2.0 and how central Fuli and The Remembrance were to those discussions. It dawned on me that HoYoverse has been orchestrating this all along.
As for how Remembrance will function, that’s anyone’s guess. In Herta’s Simulated Universe and its many versions, Remembrance blessings revolve around freezing effects and freeze-specific debuffs. Ice-aligned characters can inflict freeze when breaking an enemy, regardless of their path. Other paths in Star Rail are usually defined by broader playstyles—Harmony for support, Abundance for health, and Nihility for damage-over-time and debuffs—so Remembrance being an entire path feels oddly specific, especially for an Electric character like Aglaea.
So, brace yourself for the unexpected. Something that could potentially shake up the meta, perhaps involving the summoned aids that Star Rail leakers have been buzzing about for months.
Expect Honkai Star Rail 3.0 to launch around January 14, 2025. In the meantime, it wouldn’t hurt to brush up on your knowledge of Acheron and Aventurine if you’re planning any pulls soon. And grab those HSR codes if you’re in need of some freebies!
