PS Plus members, here’s a heads-up: you’ve got just two more weeks to grab some free PS Stars points before some less-than-favorable changes kick in. These points are "free" because you renew your subscriptions anyway, regardless of PS Stars, but it’s always been a nice little perk. Sadly, this perk will vanish starting March 1, 2025, as previously announced.
No More PS Stars Points for Subscriptions After March 1
For those of you with a subscription about to expire and thinking of renewing, make sure you do it before February 28. After that, as of March 1, Sony will stop giving out PS Stars points for all kinds of subscriptions, including PS Plus.
PS Plus has been a really popular way to earn points, since racking them up for any significant rewards—beyond some digital collectibles, which don’t really serve a purpose—has been tough. But alas, Sony caught onto this pretty quickly and decided to pull the plug on this feature.
Just a quick reminder: these points come with an expiration date now. You’ve got one year from the moment they’re unlocked to spend them, so make sure you use what little you accumulate. Moving forward, PS Stars will primarily benefit those who prefer buying their games digitally through the PS Store.
