Kluge Interactive, known for the popular VR game Synth Riders, is gearing up to launch their new VR fighting game, FINAL FURY. Gamers can dive into early access on Quest and SteamVR headsets starting next month.
Set to release on May 8th for Quest 2 and newer, as well as PC VR headsets, FINAL FURY offers a fresh spin on the arcade-style fighting genre. It combines classic 1v1 battles with an innovative gesture-based gameplay system.
The development team collaborated with nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong to create this unique experience. Wong contributed extensively, helping to shape elements such as dashes, grabs, and character styles. “Their ambition to bring traditional fighting mechanics into a first-person VR world caught my attention,” Wong shared. “I’m eager to see how players interact with all these features in early access.”
At launch, players can expect:
- Immersive Experience: Engage in VR combat where every punch, dodge, and block feels real.
- Reimagined Mechanics: Enjoy nostalgic fighter techniques adapted for VR’s physical demands.
- Growing Lineup: Start with six diverse fighters, each possessing distinct abilities, settings, and styles, with more to come.
- Unlockable Content: Battle AI opponents to unlock new characters, arenas, and cosmetic items.
- Multiplayer Action: Enjoy cross-platform play with seamless connectivity and competitive gameplay.
- Energetic Soundtrack: Pump up your sessions with the original score by Zardonic, known for SUPERHOT: MCD.
You can pre-order FINAL FURY on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 or on Steam for PC VR, available at $9.99. Mark your calendars for May 8th and get ready to jump into the action!
