Game Source Entertainment and Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT) are bringing their exciting rhythm roguelike action game, Ratatan, to the Nintendo Switch platform. Gamers who were fans of the classic Patapon series will find a familiar yet refreshed experience in this spiritual successor.
Set on the vibrant island of Rataport, which stands in stark contrast to the surrounding peaceful sea, Ratatan introduces players to a unique animal-like character known as Ratatan, along with their whimsical companions, the Cobun. Despite their distinct looks and personalities, these characters share a unified dream: to journey to The Everafter and meet The Goddess. Their determination never wavers, regardless of how many attempts it takes to achieve their dream.
The game’s development is steering under the guidance of Hiroyuki Kotani, a producer from the original Patapon series. Players will step into the shoes of Ratatan, wielding magical instruments to keep in rhythm and issue commands to the Cobun army, pushing back enemy forces along the way. Hitting the rhythm sequences perfectly will trigger the Fever Mode, where the game’s music dynamically shifts, and characters showcase new, energetic behaviors.
Anticipation mounts as Ratatan is set to make its digital debut on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch globally in 2025.
