Exciting Updates for the Xbox App

We’ve been thrilled to witness the surge in player support and engagement with the Xbox app on Windows PC over the past year. Today, I’m excited to announce that the new Home experience, which we’ve been testing with Xbox Insiders, is now available to all players using the Xbox app on Windows PC. This update makes finding your favorite games and discovering exciting new titles quicker and more straightforward.

The Home feature spotlights key content, ensuring you stay updated on game releases, events, Game Pass content, sales, and more. You’ll find curated collections and recommendations, along with exclusive deals and discounts. Plus, there’s the handy “Jump back in” feature for those using Compact Mode, allowing you to leap right back into your games from the hub with just a click.

While the app is a hub for discovering and launching amazing Game Pass titles, it’s also evolving into a fantastic resource for discovering Xbox games not included in Game Pass. Earlier this summer, we collaborated with our partners to integrate all PC games with Xbox features into the Xbox app. We’re eagerly anticipating the influx of new Xbox games on Windows PC from various creators and proudly introducing nearly 400 titles that were previously unavailable in the app.

Included in this lineup are numerous games from acclaimed Japanese studios like Kemco and Kairosoft. You’ll also find gems like “Shovel Knight Treasure Trove” by Yacht Club, “The Jackbox Party Pack”, “The Invincible” by Double 11, among countless others.

On top of that, over 100 of these newly added games are Xbox Play Anywhere titles. This means if you purchase the game on Xbox console, you can enjoy it on Xbox PC as well, and vice versa. Players love the convenience of universal Xbox ownership, seamless cloud saves, and cross-play between Xbox console and PC versions—and even other platforms, depending on the developer’s setup.

As the Windows handheld gaming scene expands, this is a golden opportunity for developers to connect with existing and potential players by offering the flexibility to play their favorite games with their friends anytime and anywhere.
