This is not just a rumor—new information about 2XKO has hit social media and it’s adding a lot of excitement to this month! The buzz is around an upcoming development update video. While that might not sound groundbreaking at first, it promises to deliver significant insights into game changes, particularly concerning Jinx, plus details on the next Alpha Lab test.
The person behind this thrilling announcement is none other than Ben Forbes, the editor-in-chief for 2XKO. He recently took to Twitter with the update: “We’ve just wrapped up filming the next 2XKO update! The editing, production, and localization processes are still in progress, but here’s a glimpse of what’s to come: We’ll cover in-depth gameplay changes since Alpha Lab 1 (Jinx included!), provide context and details on Alpha Lab 2, and even feature a showmatch starring the dev team.”
In his tweet, Ben adds, “This update is quite comprehensive, so expect the video to be fairly lengthy—around an hour or so. We’re aiming to release it in the last week of March. We aren’t quite diving into the PowerPoint livestream format just yet, but maybe someday…”
Don’t let your imagination run too wild, though. Ben noted that there won’t be any new character releases in this update, so hold off on placing any bets.
Last year, the 2XKO team bid farewell with a “See you next year” message, hinting at February for more updates. Instead, game director Shaun Rivera used Twitter to share a shift in plans. This includes a different focus for the next Alpha Labs test and introducing a new element to the game.
It seems there’s been some rescheduling within Riot, causing these updates to shift from February to March. Regardless, with the game still slated for a release later this year, this update promises to provide a valuable window into the current state of development, what’s underway, and when we might catch 2XKO in action next.
