It was the night before the new update, and everything seemed just right. Gamers found themselves deep into their Xbox adventures well past bedtime. Out of nowhere, a message popped up on their screens—a delightful surprise, a new system update ready to download. Packed with numerous fixes and fresh features, players swiftly got back to facing those in-game challenges once the update was complete.
Hello there, Insiders! Grab your festive spirit because we’ve got a snappy community update just for you. If I may, here’s a quick seasonal shout-out: wishing you all joyous holidays and a wonderful New Year! I must confess, I’m not a huge fan of the bitter cold, but it’s here nonetheless. These longer nights and chilly winds provide the perfect excuse to snuggle up indoors with your Xbox, wrapped up in cozy sweaters.
As in previous years, we’ve taken a break from releasing preview builds on both console and PC to ensure stability for everyone’s holiday gaming. But don’t worry, our team remains hard at work on exciting future releases. We’re constantly reviewing your feedback and are prepared to address any issues that may come up. Keep an eye on the Insider Hub as well for fresh content throughout December and January.
From Our Team to You
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for making this community shine. I’m incredibly proud to be part of the Xbox Insider Program, and your support and engagement mean the world to us.
Before signing off, I checked in with a few team members to see what they have planned for these cozy winter days, whether it’s gaming, relaxing, or just about anything. Here’s a bit of what they shared:
Jon: My mission is to complete Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and tackle the Ode to Castlevania DLC for Vampire Survivors.
Joshua: I’m excited to dive into my annual cinematic tradition of holiday classics and get engrossed in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
Tim: I’m a bit of a masochist with games, currently trudging through Nine Sols. I’m also looking forward to family time since I’ve got relatives flying in for the celebrations.
Donovan: This month, I’m diving into Path of Exile 2, cherishing good times with my family, and indulging in some classic Christmas movies to lift my holiday spirits.
Sally: My agenda includes munching on loads of cookies, engaging in cozy games, and hoping for some new PowerWash Simulator DLC. Not to forget spending quality moments with friends and family.
Leland: Every year, I embark on a storytelling journey. I choose two story-driven games and, come mid-December, I retreat into a week of total immersion. Games decide amongst themselves if they qualify for my exclusive shortlist. The suspension of disbelief is tough for me, but during this week, I’m entranced. It’s a tradition I eagerly await.
As for myself, I’ve finally finished grinding the Black Ops 6 camo, which means I can truly enjoy the game now! I’m also on a mission to notch up those last few achievements in Aliens: Dark Descent, and I’ll be waging war with Jack Frost to keep my geese’s pond from freezing over—something I’ve dealt with multiple times before.
How about you? We’re eager to hear what you have planned this month—whether it’s the games you’re playing or your holiday plans. Feel free to jump into our subreddit discussion under the sticky December Community update post. I’ll be around all month, known as ScantilyCloud, ready to chat and answer any questions. Also, don’t hesitate to drop some 2024 game recommendations our way; our gaming backlogs can never be too stacked!
