CD Projekt RED has announced that they are utilizing Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) to facilitate the adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The developers informed Digital Foundry about this innovative move, stating, “We’re taking advantage of a DLSS version tailored for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, which is powered by Nvidia’s Tensor cores. Our game employs DLSS across all four modes—handheld, docked, and both performance and quality variations.”
They further clarified their graphical goals, revealing, “Our current targets are achieving a resolution of 1080p in docked quality and performance modes, as well as in handheld quality mode. For handheld performance mode, we aim for 720p.”
Cyberpunk 2077, known for its expansive open-world gameplay, invites players to step into the role of V, a mercenary with cyber enhancements, navigating the gritty and futuristic landscape for both glory and survival. Players can look forward to exploring the vast Night City setting, along with engaging in the espionage-focused Phantom Liberty expansion.
The developers have ensured the game is finely tuned for every gameplay mode. This includes integrating motion controls for combat, offering a Gyroscope Mode for accurate targeting, and features that utilize touch gestures like tapping, swiping, or pinching for menu navigation. Moreover, the Joy-Con 2 (R) can serve as a mouse, enhancing user interaction.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition will be available both physically and digitally through the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch 2, with the release date set for June 5, 2025.
