PUBG: Battlegrounds is gearing up for a month-long anniversary bash to mark its eighth year, offering players a chance to snag special rewards such as themed skins and in-game currency on both PC and console platforms. Launched back in 2017, this iconic battle royale game quickly captured the hearts of millions and remains a favorite among gamers worldwide.
As a pioneer in the battle royale scene, PUBG: Battlegrounds paved the way for other giants in the genre like Fortnite and Apex Legends. Over the years, this multiplayer online powerhouse has sustained a massive player base across various platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile devices. Even after eight years, it continues to be a revenue-generating behemoth for Krafton, boasting an impressive nearly one million active players on Steam daily. In celebration of its milestone, the developers have unveiled an enticing array of new items set to debut during the game’s anniversary festivities.
The eighth anniversary events are slated to run from March 12 to April 7 on PC and from March 20 to April 15 on consoles. During this period, players logging in with their Krafton ID can hit the Join Event button to collect the 8th Anniversary Pack and Lucky G-Coin Box. By accessing the game lobby between March 12-25 on PC and March 20-April 2 on consoles, players will also have the opportunity to earn up to 350 Event Tokens, 200 G-Coins, 70 Contraband Coupons, a Hunter’s Chest, a Key, and a host of themed items, including two skins, a unique victory dance, a nameplate, and an emblem. Additionally, the Token Shop will feature exclusive items such as Orbital Vanguard skins, themed weapon camos, and fresh victory dances.
During the anniversary celebration, more rewards can be unlocked by completing specific objectives. Players will need to achieve tasks like surviving a particular amount of time in matches or dealing significant damage to opponents to collect Event Tokens, Contraband Coupons, and other bonuses. Moreover, developers have discreetly placed hidden goodies on the legendary Erangel map for players eager to explore and find.
As Krafton looks toward the future, it continues to expand the PUBG universe. In February 2025, the company revealed a new tactical shooter spin-off, PUBG: Blindspot, which is anticipated to launch on PC soon.
Since its debut on March 23, 2017, PUBG: Battlegrounds has maintained its allure and evolved with each passing year, keeping players engaged and excited for what’s next. The community-driven events and constant updates have solidified its place as one of the most enduring titles in the gaming world today.
