The debut trailer for Seth Rogen’s new series, The Studio, on Apple TV+ has arrived, and it’s filled with famous faces giving him a hard time.
Alright, maybe they’re not directly criticizing Rogen himself, but there sure are some big names involved. The Studio is a 10-episode series crafted by Rogen and his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg. In it, Rogen takes on the role of Matt Remick, the fictional head of the imaginary Continental Studios. According to the show’s description, with the movie industry fighting to remain relevant, Matt and his team of quarrelsome executives grapple with their own self-doubts while handling demanding artists and power-hungry corporate leaders, all in a quest to produce top-tier films.
“Donning their power suits to hide their constant state of panic, every social event, set visit, casting trial, marketing meeting, and award ceremony becomes a chance for either dazzling triumph or potential professional ruin. Matt, who lives and breathes film, has chased this dream job his entire life, yet it might just end up being his downfall.”
This series boasts an impressive roster, featuring Catherine O’Hara (known for Beetlejuice), Kathryn Hahn (famous for her role in Agatha All Along), and the guest appearance of Bryan Cranston (from Breaking Bad). The industry heavyweights like Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, and Charlize Theron even play themselves—and they don’t seem to be fans of Rogen’s character. Scorsese, for instance, delivers a biting line: “You’re talentless. Spineless,” proving this iconic director still has some acting prowess up his sleeve.
The trailer promises a fun ride, and you won’t need to wait too long to dive in. It’s slated to premiere on Apple TV+ on March 26 next year.
