Up until now, I’ve been a die-hard fan of Razer headsets. Whether it was the Razer Kraken Ultimate, the Kraken V3 series, or the Kaira Pro, Razer was always my top pick when diving into PC gaming. But this October brought a surprise from an unexpected player—Alienware, Dell’s gaming-centric division, released a headset that’s left my Razers gathering dust in storage. Introducing the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset, a game-changer that’s shaken up my usual preferences.
Designed for gamers who crave outstanding sound, clear mic quality, comfort, and reliable wireless performance, this headset hit the market with a pretty steep $229.99 price tag. Lucky for us, Black Friday came early, and it’s now selling for a snazzy $199.99 over at Dell—a sweet 13% off.

Why the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset Has Stolen My Heart
Completing Alienware’s 2024 trifecta of gaming accessories alongside its Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse and Keyboard, this headset stands out as a top-tier option. In my review, I called it “the best wireless gaming headset I’ve used in years,” even surpassing my previous favorites like the Razer Kraken V3 Pro HyperSense and the Kaira Pro.
Among the many reasons I’ve switched over, the microphone on the Alienware Pro takes the cake. Unlike Razer’s mics that are usually just “okay,” the unidirectional mic on this headset is exceptional, capturing my voice with clarity every time. This matters a lot to me, especially since I spend most evenings gaming and chatting with friends on Discord. Though the AI noise cancellation feels a bit intense, it’s always managed to keep out background noise without a hitch when turned off.
Sound quality is where the Alienware Pro also shines, boasting 50mm graphene-coated drivers that offer a rich, balanced sound from lows to highs. With its 20-40KHz frequency range and capable max volume, it packs quite a punch—definitely outperforming recent Razer models that I’ve tried.
The fit might be a bit snugger compared to the spacious Razer headsets I’m used to, but this one feels so much lighter—a trade-off I can live with. It sports adjustable headband length and a good deal of flexibility to accommodate pretty much any head shape. The memory foam leatherette earcups sit comfortably enough for marathon gaming sessions, though, if given the choice, I’d opt for Razer’s cooler and roomier cushions. Still, Alienware’s comfort is nearly neck-and-neck with Razer’s.
Aesthetically, Alienware went minimalist with the Pro Wireless Gaming Headset. Gone are the flashy RGB lights and vibrant colors, replaced by a sleek, simple design in either “Lunar Light” white or “Dark Side of the Moon” black. It’s well-constructed with handy onboard controls like a volume wheel, mic mute button, ANC toggle, power button, and a switch for alternating between 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth. Both wireless options work flawlessly, and I’ve been nearing the advertised 70-75 hours of battery life (with ANC off) before needing to recharge. Plus, you can always go wired if that’s your jam.
My main gripes? It doesn’t support Xbox consoles and its ANC isn’t spectacular. But since I rarely use my Xbox and I’m not a fan of ANC anyway, these don’t bother me much. If these issues matter to you, take a look at some other top-notch PC gaming headsets. But if you can overlook them, this headset is a joy to use (and don’t forget that $30 savings at Dell). Since getting it, I haven’t looked back at my Razer headsets even once—and I doubt I ever will.
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday marks the day right after American Thanksgiving each November, so this year it lands on November 29, 2024. Retailers have already started launching their Black Friday deals to reel in more customers, so jumping on these early offers isn’t a bad move. Sure, Black Friday might bring even better prices, but you run the risk of things selling out if you wait.
When is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday comes right after Black Friday weekend, making it a kind of extension of those deals. Many retailers roll out fresh discounts once Cyber Monday kicks off, so keep checking stores after the weekend if you’re hunting for new bargains. This year, Cyber Monday will be on December 2, 2024.
