Did you manage to snag a pre-order for the Nintendo Switch 2 when they went live recently? If so, there’s more exciting news to brighten your day—Sonic is set to be among the iconic gaming figures making an appearance at launch. SEGA has confirmed that “Sonic X Shadow Generations” will hit the scene on June 5th.
Sonic isn’t alone in gearing up for the big release. He’s joining the ranks of titles like Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, all of which are slated to debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 launch day. Gamers can now secure both physical and digital pre-orders for all three games.
“Sonic X Shadow Generations” invites players to step into the shoes of Shadow for a fresh storyline. This adventure introduces new abilities, showcasing why Shadow is revered as the Ultimate Life Form. Also included is a fully remastered version of the fan-favorite “Sonic Generations,” which takes players on a time-hopping journey through celebrated 3D and 2D Sonic stages, now enhanced with better visuals and additional content.
“Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S” amps up the puzzle excitement with a new “Puyo Tetris Doubles” mode that lets players team up for competitive 2v2 matches on a shared board, leading to epic combos. The game also features various local and online modes, accommodating up to four players, and includes a diverse roster of 40 characters, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, each with unique attributes.
Meanwhile, the Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut offers an enriched experience of this celebrated origin story from the Yakuza series, now optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2. This version unveils fresh story cutscenes, a new “Red Light Raid” multiplayer mode for tackling enemies with friends, and it supports English and Chinese voiceovers with French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese subtitles.
Fans can also look forward to securing a preorder for RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, which will be available on June 19. Later in the year, Two Point Museum will join the roster of exciting titles.
