Genshin Impact fans have something new to look forward to as the game prepares to launch a fresh Chronicled Banner in its upcoming 5.6 update. This time, the spotlight will be on the characters from Inazuma, offering players a chance to acquire their favorite 5-Star heroes like Chiori and Kokomi.
Developers have faced challenges in organizing event banners due to the game’s vast roster of nearly a hundred characters. It’s been tough to ensure older characters get their time to shine, with the Chronicled Banner emerging as a workaround. The introduction of these banners saw some hesitation from the community, mostly due to inconsistent scheduling. The initial banner made its appearance in Version 4.5, with a subsequent one in 5.3. Although the interval between the Liyue and Inazuma banners is relatively short, players are curious to see how frequently these will occur in the future, especially with the possibility of a banner for Sumeru on the horizon.
During a HoYoverse livestream, details about the Inazuma Chronicled Banner were shared, later highlighted by Bisentinel on the game’s subreddit. Interestingly, this banner does not include Yumemizuki Mizuki even though they are among the newer standard characters. Instead, players have the opportunity to focus exclusively on limited characters such as Chiori, Itto, and Kokomi, avoiding a potential loss of the 50:50 draw against standard heroes.
The Inazuma Chronicled Banner boasts a line-up of impressive characters: Ayaka with her Cryo sword skills, Ayato wielding a Hydro sword, Yoimiya armed with a Pyro bow, and Chiori wielding a Geo sword. Other fan favorites like Yae Miko, Itto, Kokomi, and Kazuha are also featured. Just like previous iterations, any pity accrued will carry forward, and players can opt for a 5-Star character or weapon. Some weapons, like the Everlasting Moonglow for Kokomi, join high-value options such as Uraki Misugiri and Redhorn Stonetresher.
The 5.6 update doesn’t stop there. In addition to the Chronicled Banner, new events will feature characters such as Escoffier, Navia, Kinich, and Raiden. The update brings a return to Mondstadt, sparking speculation about potential future banners for older regions like Mondstadt and maybe even Sumeru. This latest installment, set to release on May 7, promises exciting in-game developments and challenges for players old and new.
