Minisforum recently unveiled its upcoming lineup powered by AMD Ryzen CPUs at Japan IT Spring Week. Among the showcased products are a new motherboard, a compact mini PC, and a network-attached storage system, all housing the cutting-edge Ryzen 9 9955HX “Fire Range” processor.
Kicking things off, let’s look at the Minisforum F1FGM MoTD motherboard. Designed for desktop enthusiasts, this motherboard harnesses the power of the Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU, delivering an impressive 16 cores and 32 threads based on the Zen 5 architecture. It can reach up to 5.4 GHz clock speeds and contains a substantial 64 MB of L3 cache. While it runs at a default 55W, users have the option to boost its performance up to a hefty 160W. The board’s mATX design includes essential components like VRM, M.2 slot heatsinks, and an IO cover.
The F1FGM supports various configurations, including an “X3D” model, and integrates a cooler mounted on a vapor chamber baseplate to manage the heat from these powerful CPUs. It boasts four DDR5 DIMM slots, allowing for a whopping 256 GB of memory and speeds up to 8000, paired with an X870M chipset. This board is well-equipped with PCIe slots and offers versatile connectivity options, including USB4, 5GbE LAN, and Wi-Fi 7.
Moving to something more compact, the MS-A2 Mini PC is built on the success of its predecessor, the MS-A1 series. This mini PC features the new Fire Range CPUs and is packed with advanced connectivity, such as three M.2 slots, 10 GbE LAN, and a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot. Unlike the MoTD board, the Mini PC includes two SO-DIMM slots that handle up to 96 GB of DDR5 RAM at 5200 MT/s speeds, along with a range of IO options like USB Type-C and HDMI.
Lastly, the Strix-powered N5 PRO NAS system comes into play with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, boasting 12 cores and 24 threads. This NAS caters to users needing significant storage by offering five 3.5-inch tool-less bays that support RAID configurations. With up to 48 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMM support and a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, it’s designed for seamless operation. Each bay can house up to 22 TB, complemented by additional PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, and robust Ethernet options for fast data transfer.
These new Minisforum products are expected to hit the market in the coming months, offering a fresh blend of performance and innovation. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates as their release approaches.
