Soulstone Survivors is a thrilling game that transforms players from humble beginnings to divine powerhouses in just 20 minutes. Imagine experiencing the growth of your favorite character from level 1 to 99 almost instantaneously. Whether you fancy yourself a master of the elements, a devout warrior with a holy mission, or a technological genius wielding explosive gadgets, this game has a place for your wildest dreams.
After years of fine-tuning and listening to feedback from our PC fans, we’re thrilled to announce that Soulstone Survivors is making its way to Xbox Series X|S on June 17, 2025. To give you a taste of what’s to come, a demo is ready for download now on Xbox, complete with some handy tips to help you craft the most exciting builds.
What makes Soulstone Survivors special is the ability to customize your character’s skill set and push against the challenging enemies of the Void. If a particular approach doesn’t work, you can simply tweak and retry until you nail the ultimate setup.
This game encourages players to explore extreme capabilities. Once your critical hit percentage surpasses 100%, expect to land multiple critical hits with each attack. The multicast attribute lets you cast several copies of your skills, like the electrifying Chain Lightning or dagger-throwing Flurry, and this number can skyrocket beyond your imagination. Soulstone Survivors doesn’t restrict your stats, allowing you to harness the full extent of your god-like potential.
While the game is beginner-friendly with straightforward character setups, it truly shines when you dive deep into its mechanics to create strategies that push the limits. The community is constantly surprising us with their creative builds, often sharing groundbreaking strategies in spaces like Discord.
Making Friends with Buffs
Buffs are a big part of the game, boosting your character’s abilities to give you an edge in battles. For instance, every time you level up your "Prowess," you gain an additional 1% in damage. Focusing on multiple buffs can be a smarter move than focusing on just one. Some buffs trigger more benefits; for example, "Devastating Strikes" gives a chance to enhance your critical damage whenever you boost your Prowess.
The Power of Negative Effects
On the flip side, negative effects weaken your enemies and boost your damage output exponentially. "Poison," for instance, damages foes over time, spreading to others when they fall. "Fragility" increases damage taken by enemies per stack. Utilizing a few different negative effects strategically can multiply your attack power in no time.
Understanding Skill Types
Each skill or attack has a type, like Fire or Electric, which is crucial in building power. Some power-ups amplify the damage of all skills of a certain type, sometimes up to 50%, while others allow you to chain skills of different types for combined effects.
Experimenting is Key!
Experimentation is at the heart of Soulstone Survivors. The skill tree, Runes for unique pre-run effects, weapon crafting, and ascension skills all contribute to your build. Each run can teach you something new about what resonates with your play style.
Speaking of experiments, let me share my favorite setup – the Bloody Barbarian build!
Unleashing the Bloody Barbarian
Despite being the first character in the demo, the Barbarian packs a punch. Specializing in melee combat, this character can wield skills like Electric and Earth to create unexpected synergies. Here’s how you do it:
- Choose the Barbarian with the Barbaric Cleavers.
- Select skills like Double Slash for "Finesse" buffs.
- Get the "Scent of Blood" skill.
- Watch the chaos unfold!
The Barbaric Cleavers, available from the start, come with "Whirlwind" for sweeping attacks and initiates both “Bulwark” and “Finesse” buffs. Explore Swing-type and Earth skills to maximize your “Finesse” and Area of Effect capabilities. Save a spot for “Scent of Blood,” which boosts attack speed when you’re stacked with “Finesse.”
As these buffs stack, you’ll see the Barbarian turning into a whirlwind of destruction. Add skills like "Subdue" for massive finishing moves when “Finesse” stacks reach their peak.
And the options only grow in the full game with runes like the Synergetic Rune and Multicast Mastery Rune elevating your capabilities. Though these runes aren’t in the demo, you’ll still be slicing through enemies with ease.
This build barely scratches the surface of what’s possible. Try the Thor Barbarian with lightning skills that focus on critical hits or the Pyromancer to unleash fiery chaos. The demo on Xbox Series X|S is waiting for you to discover and create your strategic masterpiece!
