While STALKER found its footing primarily among PC gamers until a recent Xbox Game Pass debut with STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Metro resonated more with the Xbox 360 audience. However, Xbox users encountered a hiccup that prevented them from claiming their free copy, while Steam and GOG users had no such trouble. To make amends, the Metro team is preparing to offer Xbox players another chance to download the game for free soon.

This opportunity will be exclusive to Xbox users, without a second run for Steam and GOG. Despite the curiosity about why PlayStation and Switch users were excluded, it could be because Metro 2033 initially launched as an Xbox 360 exclusive and only transitioned to these other platforms years later.
