If recent whispers and leaks are anything to go by, Xbox is gearing up for quite an impressive year on PS5. The freshest leak trickles out from Bethesda, where a PlayStation logo was spotted on the modding page for their space RPG, Starfield.
PlayStation Logo Spotted on Starfield’s Mod Page
In a surprising twist, YouTuber 510deshawn unearthed a mod for Starfield, crafted by user ValleysEdge, which mysteriously featured a PlayStation logo as one of its supported platforms. This discovery made waves on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. Initially, the PlayStation logo was swiftly removed, followed by the entire mod itself vanishing from the site. Fortunately, inquisitive fans can still find screenshots captured in the subreddit thread.
Whispers of Starfield landing on PS5 have been in the air for over a year now. Given the several titles already announced or speculated to hit Sony’s console, it’s not far-fetched to envision Bethesda’s newest adventure joining the lineup. Still, a report from March last year threw cold water on the idea, asserting there were no plans for a Starfield PS5 port at that time. Yet, it’s entirely possible things have evolved since then, but we’ll have to wait for an official word to know for sure.
When Starfield made its debut on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023, it received a good reception, though not as stellar as some might have anticipated. According to Metacritic, the game scored an average of 83 based on 81 reviews.
Looking forward to Xbox’s offerings for PS5, Forza Horizon 5 is set to launch on the console next month. Meanwhile, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is expected to roll out in the spring of 2025, with some buzz hinting it might make an appearance sooner rather than later. Additionally, World’s Edge has announced that Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition will find its way to PS5, though the exact release date remains a mystery. A recent update, however, suggests fans could see the real-time strategy title on PS5 as early as April.
