Moon Studios has made headlines with an exciting announcement: the developer is once again standing on its own as an independent company. This update was shared during their recent Wicked Inside event, where they unveiled details about their upcoming action RPG, “No Rest For the Wicked.”
In a significant move, Moon Studios managed to acquire the publishing rights for this new game from Private Division, a decision taken by Take-Two back in November 2024. To bolster their operations, they’ve recruited former staff from Annapurna to oversee the remaining projects in their portfolio.
In other news, Thomas Mahler, the founder of Moon Studios, took to Twitter with some impressive achievements of their past. He proudly shared that the Ori series, which includes “The Blind Forest” and “Will of the Wisps,” has collectively surpassed 15 million copies in sales.
“Not too shabby for a Metroidvania,” Mahler remarked, recalling how the genre was initially dismissed as obsolete when they embarked on this journey. “So thank you to everyone who supported us so far,” he added, expressing gratitude towards the community that has backed them all the way.
