Exciting news in the indie gaming world! The popular indie games newsletter, Pantaloon, has just unveiled its new publishing label.
Starting strong, they’re bringing two intriguing projects to the table: the narrative-focused Sub-Verge and Occlude, a unique twist on the classic Solitaire. Pantaloon, which you might know as a supporting hub for indie developers, boasts an impressive subscriber base nearing 30,000.
Founder Jamin Smith acknowledges the saturated indie publisher market, saying, “We’re aware that the world isn’t exactly crying out for another indie publisher.” Yet, what sets them apart is an innovative approach. “Our vision is grounded in unique principles,” he elaborates. “Leveraging our existing platform and offering terms that provide genuine agency and security for our development partners, we’re eager to embrace risk. It’s all about discovering those quirky, experimental games that venture into genres yet to be fully explored.”
Emphasizing their mission, Smith adds, “‘A home for misfits’ isn’t merely a catchy phrase; it’s an invitation to games that don’t quite fit the traditional models of publishing.”
Just as a heads up, Alex Calvin is a freelance writer and photographer who’s collaborated with Pantaloon previously.
