Nintendo has made it clear that exclusive titles will play a “crucial” role when they roll out the Nintendo Switch 2.
This statement came as a response to a query from a shareholder. The question revolved around whether Nintendo would continue releasing new games for the current Switch after its successor hits the market.
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa elaborated, saying, “As of now, we’ve announced titles like Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond for the Switch, set for a 2025 release. Given that the Nintendo Switch remains highly popular, we plan to keep developing and releasing enticing software.”
He added, “However, when introducing new hardware, exclusive games are key. We’re exploring various strategies to make both the Switch and the upcoming Switch 2 appealing to a wide audience.”
