Apple’s AI suite, known as Apple Intelligence, which is already a staple on iOS and Mac, is set to debut on Vision Pro this coming April with the official rollout of visionOS 2.4. However, if you’re keen to try it out early and have developer mode turned on, you can dive in whenever you’re ready.
As anticipated, Apple Intelligence is poised to deliver an array of cutting-edge AI functionalities to Vision Pro. This includes writing aids, AI-created visuals, smart reply messages, natural language search capability in Photos, AI-generated summaries, and personalized emojis. Essentially, it’s everything that the iOS and Mac versions bring to the table, now even more powerful thanks to Vision Pro’s emphasis on voice and hand-based text inputs.
Coming up, Vision Pro’s update will make Guest User mode smarter, allowing users to share their experiences with others more seamlessly using a nearby iPhone or iPad. This aims to ease the often cumbersome task of explaining headset navigation, moving beyond the usual “Okay, return to Home, tap that icon—no, the other one” routine that XR enthusiasts know all too well.
Another exciting addition is the new Spatial Gallery. This feature provides a curated selection of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas from various artists, filmmakers, and photographers. Upon release, Spatial Gallery will be available to users in countries like Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the U.A.E., the UK, and the U.S.
Furthermore, Vision Pro will boast more integrated interactions with iOS. With the launch of visionOS 2.4 in April, Vision Pro users will enjoy capabilities such as queuing app and game downloads, browsing spatial content and experiences, and accessing device information via a new Apple Vision Pro iOS app, set to be introduced with iOS 18.4.
Initially, the 2.4 release featuring Apple Intelligence will be available solely in U.S. English. However, Apple assures that more features and language options will unfold as the year progresses.
Though there’s yet to be a specific release date beyond the promise of April, a developer beta version of visionOS 2.4 is already in circulation. If you’re interested in enrolling in the developer beta release, the process is straightforward: head to Settings > Privacy & Security, activate “Developer Mode,” and restart your Vision Pro to begin exploring.
