Overwatch 2’s maps are often a playground for creative exploitation, but one D.Va player recently found themselves in a sticky situation when they got stuck behind a tree on the Esperanca Push map. Since this map rolled out with Overwatch 2’s launch in 2022, it’s been around for a while, yet moments like these prove that even long-time players can stumble upon unexpected map quirks.
Despite some backlash from the community about the game’s monetization approach, Overwatch 2 has delivered a wealth of fresh content in a manner that outpaces the original Overwatch. The game is constantly expanding with new cosmetics, maps, and characters. Come 2024, two new maps were unveiled, catering to the fresh Clash game mode introduced in the game.
Although Overwatch 2’s newest season, the 15th, has injected a lot of exciting content into the game, fans haven’t yet been treated to any new maps for 2025. Yet, a clip shared by a user named French_Taylor sheds light on an amusing predicament. In the video, this player, controlling the character baby D.Va, managed to trap themselves behind a tree beneath one of the main bridges on the map. After calling down their mech, they found themselves too large to escape.
This encounter turns out to be quite entertaining as the player interacts with an opposing team’s Reinhardt who tries to help by destroying D.Va’s mech. Thankfully, a Lifeweaver comes to the rescue, using their Petal Platform to elevate D.Va and facilitate her escape. Although it’s feasible to get trapped there, it’s a rare enough occurrence that most players will likely never encounter it. However, other characters with larger hitboxes or certain abilities—like Lifeweaver’s Life Grip or Roadhog’s ultimate—could potentially find themselves similarly stuck if things align just right.
This isn’t the first time players have found themselves stuck in the corners of Overwatch 2’s maps. Blizzard has been known to roll out mini updates to maps when needed. Yet, clips like this one serve as a playful reminder for D.Va and other players—to be cautious and aware of their surroundings before summoning that mech suit.
