Chipo y Juan, an indie studio making waves in the gaming world, just announced that their new mixed reality game, Detective VR, is launching on the Quest platform next week, drawing inspiration from the sci-fi classic Minority Report.
Set to make its debut on Quest 3 and 3S on February 27th, Detective VR promises a captivating narrative-driven experience. This mixed reality marvel allows players to control the flow of time, gather crucial clues, and question witnesses right in their own living room using Passthrough mode.
The gameplay, intriguingly described as a blend of Return of the Obra Dinn, Immortality, and Minority Report, suggests that solving the case won’t be as simple as it sounds. Expect twists and turns, with unreliable testimonies and challenging confrontations with suspects as you switch between mixed and virtual reality environments.
Exclusively available for the Quest platform, Detective VR is set to deliver five hours of engaging, story-rich content. Players will have the power to rewind, pause, and play scenes in search of elusive clues, interacting with six characters brought to life through motion capture and voice acting.
The cast features talents you might recognize from popular television shows like The Crown, Succession, and Doctor Who, including actors like Luke Mably, Angus Wright, Melissa Bright, Hannah Wright, David Clark, and Bryony Byrne.
Based in Marseille, France, Chipo y Juan has a history of innovative VR projects. They’ve previously developed VORTEX VR, also for Quest, along with a range of experiences designed for art exhibitions.
Eager detectives can pre-order Detective VR on the Horizon Store for Quest 3 and 3S right now. It’s being offered for an enticing $24 pre-order price, a nice discount from the full price of $30. Don’t miss the chance to start unraveling mysteries when this thrilling game drops!
