Retailer Responds to Alleged GTA 6 Release Date ‘Leak’

In a recent turn of events, the supposed release date leak for Grand Theft Auto 6 has been squashed by none other than retailer X Uruguay, the original source of the speculation. It’s been a staggering 12 years since the debut of Grand Theft Auto 5, leaving fans clamoring for updates on its successor. Unfortunately, details have been sparse since Rockstar Games acknowledged the development of GTA 6.

The most significant development unfolded when Rockstar dropped the first trailer for GTA 6. This trailer unveiled a female lead named Lucia and confirmed that the game is set in Rockstar’s rendetion of Florida, featuring Vice City. However, over a year has passed without word on when the second trailer might be released.

Currently, there’s no official word on when the next GTA 6 trailer will make its way to eager fans. The game is shrouded in mystery, and one of the biggest questions remains its release date. Recently, retailer X Uruguay claimed a September 17, 2025 release date for GTA 6, alleged to have originated from PlayStation. This sparked discussions and speculation among fans. However, the retailer has since clarified that it did not receive any such information from any official sources. Instead, they searched for the GTA 6 release date, noticed that GTA 5 launched on September 17, 2013, and decided to open pre-orders for the same date. They’ve since apologized for the confusion and admitted to erroneously listing the date.

There was never much credibility to the idea of a September 17, 2025 release, considering it falls on a Wednesday. Typically, video games are released on Tuesdays or Fridays, with Thursdays becoming increasingly common as well. Wednesdays, on the other hand, rarely see new game launches. However, there’s still hope that GTA 6 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor with a September release. After all, the projected release window is set for fall 2025.

That said, GTA enthusiasts should remain skeptical until an official release date is announced, and even then, they should brace for potential delays.
