Developed by Vanimals and published by Brevik’s Skystone Games, Undying offers a gripping and emotional twist on the traditional zombie survival genre. The infection progressing in protagonist Anling means you need to be smart with your time and energy. When night falls and fatigue sets in, it’s crucial to rest properly, otherwise, the virus will take hold faster. Each new day brings fresh symptoms of the infection, increasing the difficulty of your journey. Some symptoms can be controlled with appropriate medication, while others might oddly provide advantages, like the ability to consume raw meat.

Your main goal is to support your son, Cody, ensuring he’s learning and growing—and ultimately, finding a safe haven for him when your journey comes to an end. This involves spending quality time with him, taking him with you on scavenging trips, teaching him how to loot, craft, cook, and eventually, defend himself. Balancing his stress levels is equally important. Each game session presents a randomly generated map filled with unique events and characters, so your adventure will be uniquely yours.

Vanimals highlighted Brevik’s contribution to the game, humorously stating, “Did you really think we’d let the godfather of Diablo miss out on designing dungeons and ensuring looting feels just right?” The union of survival crafting, mini-games, and exploration, alongside its captivating low-poly art and evocative soundtrack, makes Undying a standout title in the zombie game arena.
