ASRock’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards have made a debut online, giving us a sneak peek at their Steel Legend and Taichi custom models.
ASRock’s line-up for the RX 9070 series, crafted with the latest RDNA 4 architecture, is looking impressive. Although we haven’t seen images from other graphics card manufacturers yet, ASRock has stolen the limelight with pictures of their three-tier offerings: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger. Let’s start with the Taichi model, which ASRock is positioning as their flagship. This card features a sleek triple-fan design and a substantial heatsink, necessitating a three-slot build.
One of the key highlights of the Taichi model is its use of a 12V-2×6 power connector. This isn’t a common feature across all models since AMD has left this choice to the card manufacturers based on their power needs. The 12V-2×6 connector can deliver up to 600W, which means that the Taichi is designed to handle intensive specifications and overclocking.
Moving to the Steel Legend, this is ASRock’s mid-tier option, offering both white and silver color variants. It retains a 2.5-slot form but still boasts a triple-fan setup. Unlike the Taichi, it relies on the more standard 2x 8-pin connectors, which is typical for most of AMD’s partner models, save for the high-end cards like the Taichi.
As for the release, the buzz suggests we might see these models drop as soon as next week. This aligns with rumors that AMD will begin pre-orders for the RX 9070 series at that time.
