The upcoming “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate European Online Challenge: Winter Clash 2024” promises to be an exhilarating online showdown. Brought to you by Nintendo of Europe SE, this event will take place within the beloved Nintendo Switch game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Situated in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Nintendo (or simply “we”) is excited to host this competition that will spotlight players from across Europe.
### Event Schedule and Participation Area
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6th, when the action unfolds between 18:00 and 20:00 CET (that’s 17:00 to 19:00 UK time). This event is open to residents from a host of European nations, including Austria, Belgium, and many others, all the way to the United Kingdom. Please note, however, that players residing in more remote areas like the Azores or Svalbard might encounter issues with connectivity and thus may not be able to join the fray.
### How to Join the Fun
Joining the competition is straightforward. Participants must hold a Nintendo Account linked to any of the eligible countries and possess an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a full membership or a free trial. You’ll need the game on your Nintendo Switch, accessible by selecting “Online” followed by “Official Tourney Qualifiers” from the main menu. Participate in at least one match during the event to ensure your spot.
### Climbing Up the Tourney Score Ladder
The event revolves around achieving the highest Tourney score, which stands as a unique rating reflecting a player’s skill level based on match outcomes and the skill of their opponents. Your score will update in real-time throughout the event, and you’re encouraged to play as many matches as possible in pursuit of a top score. Even matches that begin within the event window but conclude afterward will count toward your ranking.
### Prizes for the Exceptional Few
The competition offers exciting rewards. The top ten finishers with the highest Tourney scores will each receive 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points. Those securing spots 11 through 100 will earn 1,000 Gold Points each. A word of caution, though: changing your account region to a non-participating country between joining and prize distribution will lead to disqualification. Similarly, any signs of cheating or foul play will not only disqualify you but might also jeopardize your Nintendo Account status.
### Prize Distribution
Expect your well-earned Gold Points to be credited to your Nintendo Account within two weeks after the event wraps up. Simply log into your My Nintendo Point Log to confirm the prize has landed in your account.
### Terms and Privacy
As usual, Nintendo’s participation terms, privacy policy, and My Nintendo Rewards Program terms are in effect. With everything set, it’s time to gear up and aim for the top! Good luck to all contestants!
