The action-packed RPG, Elden Ring, has hit a remarkable milestone with over 28.6 million copies sold so far.
This exciting update comes from Bandai Namco, the game’s publisher, who shared the impressive sales figures while announcing a new multiplayer-themed spin-off, Nightreign, during The Game Awards last week. The sales numbers reflect the period up to the end of September.
Looking back, the last time official sales figures were reported was in June, when Elden Ring had sold 25 million copies. In the months since, an additional 3.6 million copies have landed in players’ hands, a surge likely boosted by various discounts and the introduction of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion over the summer.
Interestingly, Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners noted on Twitter that with this new milestone, Elden Ring has surpassed the entire Dark Souls franchise in sales. To put that in perspective, the Dark Souls series, starting from its launch in 2011, has sold just 27 million copies.
