It seemed they might dive back into the co-op zombie shooter scene, supposedly drawing inspiration from the beloved Left 4 Dead series. Initially, details were sparse—Turtle Rock wasn’t about to spill the beans in a job ad—but eagle-eyed fans found a juicy tidbit courtesy of MP1st. It turns out, an actor who’s lent his motion capture talents to games like Gears of War, Dead by Daylight, and a Star Wars title (likely Battlefront) might have unintentionally disclosed the existence of Back 4 Blood 2.

In the actor’s portfolio, listed under motion capture accomplishments, was a mysterious title named “Gobi 2” from Turtle Rock Studios. Now, if you’re not familiar, “Gobi” served as the codename for the original Back 4 Blood. The logical leap here is that “Gobi 2” stands in as a placeholder for Back 4 Blood 2. Granted, “Back 4 Blood 2” sounds a bit clumsy—with numbers stacked awkwardly—but what’s truly amusing is the choice to simply add a ‘2’ to the prior codename for their next outing.
