Kaiserpunk aims to bring a fresh and visually captivating twist to this genre, offering players the chance to reshape the geopolitical history of the 20th century. Although its official release is a few months away, you’re in luck because this intriguing new strategy title is opening a “massive” playtest weekend now!

In the initial stages of Kaiserpunk, you’ll focus on establishing factories and infrastructure, laying the groundwork for a growing population and resource pool. But soon, your ambitions will expand, compelling you to conquer neighboring territories and evolve from a humble microstate into a sprawling empire—often through force. The unique alternate-history setting in the early 1900s provides a fantastic backdrop for strategic city building. Earlier this year, Kaiserpunk held its first playtest but was later pushed to 2025 for its official launch. However, this delay has allowed developer Overseer Games to polish the game further. The upcoming playtest promises an authentic preview of the final version.

So, what’s new in this round of playtesting? In a cheeky announcement, the developers claim, “In short: everything.” Kaiserpunk has transformed into a refined, feature-packed experience, with new systems added, old ones revamped, and previous playtest feedback taken seriously.

The updated features include new social pillars that reflect your nation’s ideology, heritage choices from German, Western, or Russian origins, optimized maps, an enhanced tutorial, a revamped diplomacy system, and a lot more.
