Helldivers 2’s Latest Major Mission Involves the Democracy Space Station, Currently on Cooldown

Helldivers 2’s latest buzz is all about the Democracy Space Station, which has become the main attraction in the game’s newest major update. The mission involves using the station to help liberate planets, but there’s a twist—it’s been launched while all the station’s special abilities are currently on a cooldown, leaving them unusable for now.

Interestingly enough, the DSS’s orbital barrages were highly effective, albeit a bit too deadly, leading to some unintended friendly fire incidents last week. Arrowhead, the developer, quickly jumped into action to address these issues, so hopefully, when they return, they’ll pose less threat to fellow Super Earthers.

The current mission objective is simple: “Utilize the newly-operational Democracy Space Station to sway the battle in our favor” by taking control of more planets than are lost over the next five-ish days. Sounds straightforward, but as some Reddit users noted when the mission kicked in, it arrived at a time when the DSS’s trio of special abilities is undergoing cooldown.

As things stand, it’ll be another fifteen hours or so before the first ability, the orbital blockade, is back on the table—unless something changes. The eagle storm is about a day and 14 hours away from readiness, while those heavy orbital barrages will take about three days and 14 hours before they can be used again.

With over five days remaining on the mission, there will be time to activate all these abilities before the deadline, which is good news considering it doesn’t appear to be a mission that players can quickly rush to complete.

While some players believe Arrowhead might be fine-tuning everything to ensure smooth functionality once these abilities come back, the lengthy cooldowns are causing some frustration. Fans are hoping that Arrowhead will either cut down these wait times or introduce more DSS abilities to bridge the gap between the major ones.
