Sony recently rolled out the PS Plus lineup for December 2024, tying it into the celebration of PlayStation’s 30-year milestone, but many gamers feel it doesn’t quite hit the mark. Among the upcoming Essential games, one title stands out, primarily because it had been part of PS Plus Extra and was removed earlier this year, leaving many subscribers already familiar with it.
Under the spotlight for December are It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem. The inclusion of It Takes Two, a game removed from PS Plus Extra earlier in the year, hasn’t gone unnoticed by players.
While there isn’t necessarily criticism of the games themselves, if you browse through comments on the PS Blog, gaming forums, and across social media channels, you’ll notice a common sentiment: the selection doesn’t seem to do justice to such a significant anniversary for PlayStation. One user candidly expressed their disappointment, saying, “This is one of the most lackluster attempts at commemorating an anniversary I’ve ever seen, especially for a 30-year milestone.” Another voiced their frustration, admitting it was an unusual step for them to comment just to share their dissatisfaction: “I don’t usually vent on blogs, but this is just disappointing.”
We’re still waiting on the complete announcement for December’s PS Plus Extra and Premium lineups. For now, though, Premium subscribers have a little something to look forward to with the promise of three classic games and an exclusive game trial.
