For the right price—$10,000 to be precise—I’d consider naming my firstborn Turok. Just one problem: I haven’t got any kids yet.
Hold the phone, though! Xenoblade X is making its way to the Switch with some “New Story Elements.” Yes, they really included that moment in the trailer. I’ve got to admit, it gets under my skin just a little bit.
Switching gears, it looks like Nintendo launched a music app. Kind of surprising, right? Oh, and it features a special cameo from bloodvertising. That’s kind of intriguing.
Once we return from a short pause, Gui dives into some classic brawlers. First up is Double Dragon Advance, which made its way to the Switch (around 01:15:41), followed by Arcade Archives – Metamorphic Force (at 01:30:31). Meanwhile, Jon has been busy experimenting with the Monster Hunter Wilds beta (check in around 01:45:09). As for Greg, he’s indulging in some spooky games for the season, namely Ghouls n Ghosts and Castlevania (he talks about it from 01:56:31 onward). To wrap up New Business, James takes a flight down nostalgia lane with Rogue Flight, a game that takes a page from Star Fox (jump in at 02:00:34).
And looking ahead—episode 900 is on the horizon. We’d love for you to contribute your thoughts to the inbox.
I’d like to note that this episode was shaped by the editing prowess of Guillaume Veillette. Our unique “Men of Leisure” theme is a creation by Perry Burkum, crafted exclusively for Radio Free Nintendo. You can check out more of Perry’s creations on SoundCloud. Our distinctive logo is the handiwork of Connor Strickland. Take a peek at his portfolio on his website for more.
To close out this episode, we chose “Melancholia” from Xenoblade Chronicles X, composed by the talented Hiroyuki Sawano. This piece was a special request by both A.G. and Juan C. Of course, all rights are held by Nintendo Co., Ltd.
