Global Sales of Nintendo Switch Exceed 146.04 Million Units

Nintendo recently announced that their Nintendo Switch has reached a remarkable milestone, with over 146.04 million units sold globally.

In just the first half of the year leading up to September 30, 2024, they’ve moved 4.72 million additional consoles. While this marks a 31 percent decrease compared to the previous year, Nintendo emphasized that "sales remain strong when compared to previous Nintendo systems in their eighth year."

The success story isn’t just about consoles. Nintendo has shattered records with over 1.3 billion Switch games sold, making this platform the most successful in terms of game sales in Nintendo’s history. The company proudly shared that "Nintendo Switch has seen more software played on it than any past Nintendo hardware."

Here’s the lineup: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe leads the pack with 64.27 million units, while Animal Crossing: New Horizons follows with 46.45 million. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has reached 35.14 million copies sold, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild isn’t far behind with 32.29 million. Super Mario Odyssey comes in at 28.50 million, and the duo of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield has sold a solid 26.44 million copies.

On the other hand, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet eagerly trail at 25.69 million, with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom achieving 21.04 million. Super Mario Party has entertained 20.98 million players, and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe rounds out the list with 17.77 million copies sold.
