Seems like the revival stumbled into a bit of trouble.
This week, we take a closer look at the intriguing offerings on 1-900-103-4RFN and dive into an analysis of Death Wish 4 (00:00:26). Although this was intended just for the intro, true to form, RFN will be RFN.
We spent quite some time on a segment purely designed to help new listeners learn our names and voices, as well as to inform everyone about Jon’s presence (or lack thereof, which is quite probable). Then, we transition into NEW BUSINESS! Greg kicks things off with a quick update on Mario & Luigi: Brothership and shares insights about the new Nintendo Switch Online addition: Donkey Kong Land (00:13:38). James returns with his signature thoughtful approach to the just-released KUUKYOMI 4: Consider It (00:31:04). It’s getting increasingly challenging to discuss these games since they follow a familiar pattern but still provide entertaining moments. Guillaume wraps up his thoughts on Trials of Mana (00:39:54), confirming it’s a solid title. Plus, it’s available in the Nintendo Black Friday sale. However, he’s far less enthusiastic about the Amazon series Like a Dragon: Yakuza (00:45:43). And yes, you’ve read that right, Jon purchased Skyrim once again (01:05:01). This time on the PS5, and he’s actually playing it. He and James also discuss strategies on acquiring eShop and Xbox Live vouchers—these two are gearing up for game-time.
Following a break, the team assembles a list of eight Nintendo DS games—two per person—to decide our pick for The Nintendo DS 20th Anniversary Retroactive (01:15:27). Curious to see what we chose? Tune in and discover.
Keep the passion alive!
This episode had the expert touch of Guillaume Veillette in editing. “Men of Leisure,” the theme song, was a custom piece for Radio Free Nintendo, crafted by Perry Burkum. You can check out more of his work on SoundCloud. The Radio Free Nintendo logo is a creation by Connor Strickland. See his portfolio at his website.
This episode closes with “More London Streets (Live)” from Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, a composition by Tomohito Nishiura. James handpicked this track. LEVEL-5 Inc. holds all rights reserved.
