The latest sensation on Steam is none other than Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which claimed the top spot as the highest-grossing game last week. Released on November 20th, this survival shooter has already surpassed a million copies in sales. That’s impressive enough, even before we consider the additional players enjoying the game via Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass. For the team at GSC Game World, this success must be a massive relief, especially given that much of their work had to be completed under the incredibly challenging conditions of a warzone.
Heart of Chornobyl managed to outshine Counter-Strike 2, pushing it to second place for the week. Meanwhile, Valve saw their Steam Deck hardware climb two spots to secure third place, likely driven by the buzz around its limited edition white version launching on November 18th, which almost immediately sold out.
Meanwhile, PUBG: Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 each slipped down a notch, landing in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Even so, the much-anticipated Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 made its debut at number six, despite several reports of technical glitches affecting its performance.
Looking ahead, Path of Exile’s upcoming Early Access RPG managed to snag the seventh spot in the Steam Top Ten, primarily owing to its Supporter Packs that guarantee early access upon release in December.
Amazon and NCSoft’s Throne and Liberty made a small leap to eighth place, beating out EA Sports FC 25, which came in at ninth. Rounding off the chart is Valve’s Dota 2, holding steady at tenth place.
